BIKRAM YOGA: THE WORLD'S ORIGINAL HOT YOGA SERIES

THE GROUNDBREAKING 90 MINUTE SERIES THAT REVOLUTIONISED YOGA

BYL is widely regarded as London's leading hot yoga specialist, pioneering at the forefront of the hot yoga revolution. All the forms we offer are carefully selected to serve as the spokes on a wheel synergistic with the center, the one that started it all - the Bikram Yoga 90 minute series.

The class is designed for ALL levels, Beginners to Advanced. During the 90-minute session work out every muscle, tendon, joint, ligament, organ and gland while systematically moving oxygenated blood to every cell of the body.

A SINGLE SESSION OF BIKRAM YOGA WORKS EVERY JOINT, MUSCLE, TENDON, LIGAMENT AND GLAND IN THE HUMAN BODY

The postures are practiced in the safe environment of a heated room, increasing muscle relaxation and blood circulation and minimizing risk of injury. Strengthen your cardiovascular system and flush toxins from the body.

The type and sequence of the stretching and compression postures ensure that the health effects are optimised, massaging all internal organs, flushing out the cardiovascular system, and stimulating the endocrine and nervous systems, thereby releasing any deficient hormones and enzymes.

The result is improvement of health to all systems, reduction of stress, strengthening of the immune system and healing of injuries. Regularly practising Bikram Yoga can reduce many symptoms of chronic ailments and diseases, including back and joint problems, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, sleep disorders, digestive problems, tendonitis, skin conditions, and others.

Leave each class feeling rejuvenated and energised. Bikram Yoga builds strength, flexibility, grace, balance, and endurance, ultimately promoting the creation of a lean and healthy body inside out. At the same time, it has positive effects on mental well-being, making you more productive, focused and balanced, resulting in an eventual union of the body, mind and spirit.

  • 90 minutes, Practised at 40°C.
  • Suitable for ALL levels. Recommended for Beginners to yoga.

Yes. The 90 minute Bikram Yoga sequence is highly recommended for Beginners. The method allows the body to gradually develop strength, flexibility and toning in a gentle and safe way. This class is particularly good for anyone starting from scratch.

You’ll need a yoga mat, two large towels and a bottle of water (all these items are rentable at the studio).

Bikram Yoga is done at 40 C. Basically, it’s 90 minutes on a balmy, tropical beach! As with any activity, for most people the first class can be challenging (typically due to the heat). It typically gets easier quickly from there and very likely you’ll soon be craving the heat, particularly as your body starts to change. We have students ranging in age from 17 to 80, so no matter what your age or level of fitness, Bikram yoga is a great way to begin.

Clients have been measured at our studio burning 1400+ calories, however the general consensus for those doing the full class with reasonable effort is that you’ll burn around 800-1000 calories. People often report seeing changes in their bodies after the first few classes. Clothing feels looser, and the body starts to reshape itself as it becomes stronger and leaner. As far as a comparison to other activities, weightlifting when done correctly can build mass, while spin/cycling can be an effective way to build up bulk in the lower body. Yoga is a deep stretch, designed to make the body strong, lean and flexible.

If you’re new to our studio, sign up for our INTRO OFFER and book your first class. If you're either a current client or have visited us before, simply book in to class with any valid package by clicking the BOOK button next to the class time.
